An ancient race of shapeshifters has lived secretly among humans for thousands of years...they are...the Amoveo

Layla Nickelsen has spent years hiding from her Amoveo mate and guarding a devastating secret. But Layla's worst fear is realized when the man who haunts her dreams shows up in person ...

William Fleury is as stoic as they come, until he finds Layla and his feelings overwhelm him. She won't let him get close, but then an unknown enemy erupts in violence and threatens everything Layla holds dear...

Layla had been warned about the Amoveo, but now it was too late. Her mate had somehow found her. She did the only thing she could think of. She ran to the only place she has ever felt safe. What she had not anticipated was William following her.

Layla was like any of the other hybrids featured in the previous stories. For one, she seemed to have a certain amount of understanding out the Amoveo people and herself. This made it even more difficult for William to claim his mate, because there was a reason that the Amoveo people were unaware of her, even if she knew about them. This made their relationship that much more complex and intriguing. Especially, since William also quickly learned that Layla came with some extra hybrid baggage.

William was a character I was familiar with from previous stories, and it was interesting to see how his character developed. Deemed The Iceman, he is known for his calm unemotional disposition. It was fun to watch Layla take him out of his comfort level. What I had not anticipated was how he was so quick to accept this new role as the caring consort trying to win Layla’s heart. However, I would have liked to have seen him a bit more off balance by his emotions. He seemed to just fall into the role rather easily. While I enjoyed this new William, I also loved that the author brought back the Iceman when needed to protect his friends and mate.

The dynamic plot line of this story was inspiring and kept me reading well into the night. I loved that there were multiple facets including the romantic relationship, various antagonistic conflicts, friendship developments and more. I never really knew what I was going to get next. Small things like Layla’s reaction to William made the story just that much more entertaining. In addition, the author even brought back incorporated couples from previous stories for fans of the series.

I have already gotten a few of my fellow readers hooked on the Amoveo series and if the author continues to produce these high quality stories featuring remarkable story lines and enchanting characters, I am sure more and more will jump on board the Amoveo train.
