Susan Sampson left the Double B far behind when she moved to New York City. Determined to make it on Broadway, she wanted to prove to everyone back home, including Teddy Weston, that she has what it takes. But ten years later she’s discovering the cost of fame can be high, especially with a stalker on her trail.

Teddy Weston shut off his emotions toward Susan the day he found out she sold one of his songs to a Nashville producer behind his back. Even though their families were in business together, he refused to have anything more to do with her. But now she’s in danger, and he’s the only one the family trusts to protect her.

Old memories die hard when Susan and Teddy are thrust back together. With everything on the line, can they find their way back to the music without breaking their hearts?

Sparks fly, passions flare and misunderstandings abound in Roni Adams’ latest novel The Cowboy’s Duet. And fans of the Double B Series are going to love every minute of it.

Their love of music drew Teddy and Susan together. But Susan’s lifelong dream of becoming a star meant leaving the families’ ranch and consequently, Teddy, behind. An unforgivable betrayal on Susan’s part has kept the two at arms length for ten long years. When Susan needs protection from a crazed stalker, Teddy reluctantly agrees to become her bodyguard. Close quarters and day-to-day contact quickly brings their simmering desire for another to a boil, but will past mistakes and Susan’s career continue to keep them at arms length?

Teddy is an irrepressible and fun loving cowboy who is cocky and self-confident but extremely loyal to his family and friends. There is more to this sexy man than the frivolous and easygoing façade he presents to the world. While guarding Susan, he finds the past and present colliding, and begins to examine their relationship with a greater understanding of what happened between them years ago. But none of that changes the fact that his life is in Texas while Susan’s is in New York.

Susan has accomplished her lifelong dream of becoming a star. She spends what little free time she has back on the family ranch and she shares a very close relationship with her three sisters. When she is forced to head back to the ranch for her safety, she begins to appreciate what she has sacrificed for her successful career. Going back to New York, she is forced to re-evaluate her goals when she discovers how much she misses Teddy and her extended family.

Ms. Adams keeps the sexual tension high as Teddy and Susan get this close to consummating their relationship only to be interrupted time and again. But, boy oh boy, when they finally do the deed, it was so worth the wait!

The Cowboy’s Duet by Roni Adams is an incredibly sensual read with highly engaging characters and a compelling plot. Readers will occasionally despair that this couple will NEVER get together, but when they do, it is so romantic, mushy and downright sweet, it is easy to forgive them for the frustration they put you through. And the sneak peak of the next book in the Double B series? Let’s just say, this reviewer absolutely, positively cannot wait for its release!
