What happens when a woman meets a man she isn’t sure she wants to be attracted to, but is from the start? And what if the man is totally smitten, too? Then you have In Pursuit of Passion.

The idea of this story captivated me. A black woman fixed up with a white man. Okay, seems simple, but when they meet, it’s like a firework explodes. She doesn’t want to admit she’s into him and he’s a tad gun shy. I liked how they both have strong personalities without canceling each other out. It’s a nice balance though.

There were times when I wanted a bit more conflict to occur. I get that it’s a sweet love story, but I wanted more. When they made love, it was magical. I liked how they managed to get into each other’s a song you want to hear over and over again. I also wanted to know what happened after the story. Where did they go from after the last page?

My favorite character was Lace because she meddled but it was done with love. She had the best comebacks, too, like she and Celeste were sisters by different mothers.

If you want a smart, sassy book with intriguing characters, then you need to read In Pursuit of Passion. I guarantee you’ll enjoy it.
