Heidi Aston is as surprised as anyone when her husband, who’s been mysteriously gone for months, shows up in the delivery room just as she’s giving birth to their baby. A baby he didn’t even know existed.

When newborn Lilly is brutally kidnapped days later, Heidi is given no choice but to join forces with her estranged husband, Joseph, in a wild and terrifying journey to find their baby. In time, Heidi finds that Joseph’s absence was not only mysterious but suspicious, as well. And to top it all off, they are dealing with one unorthodox kidnapper.

As two lost hearts and souls search for love again, as well as their newborn child, their journey will take all the courage they can muster for there to be any hope of reigniting their romance or getting their four-day-old infant back alive.

The story opens with Heidi in labor, giving birth to her daughter, Lilly. In this setting we learn that Joseph has been missing for over 9 months and has no knowledge of his daughter's impending birth. We know he left because of a jealous encounter with Heidi’s boss, we don’t know where he’s been, but his sister-in-law Jenna has summoned him back.

After this opening prepare yourself for a wild ride! Heidi is attacked, knocked out and four day old Lilly is captured and held as a hostage. The following chase and efforts to recapture Lilly are fraught with emotion and disappointment after disappointment. The author's skill draws you deeply into the story, and was completely invested in these characters.

Chasing Shadows was a very, very entertaining story, believable and guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved it and give it a solid five book rating. Great story, great author. Grab a copy and enjoy.
