Privileged debutante Alex Kincaid is sent to her uncle’s ranch after receiving her third DUI in eighteen months. She doesn’t know the first thing about cooking, but when it comes to the Bar K’s sexy-as-sin cook, Brett, she’s willing to learn. Having served his six years as an inmate at the prison ranch, Brett Hartman can almost taste his freedom. When the warden’s niece arrives, his world is turned upside down. Alex argues with him at every turn and makes his already chaotic life a living hell. Fraternization will send him back to jail, away from the Bar K. So why is he willing to throw away everything he’s worked for to have one night with her in his bed?

The Cowboy and the Princess find love deep in the heart of Texas, but there is a boat load of baggage and tons of obstacles that stand in the way.

Monica Robinson gives us a very unique romance in Alex. Her storyline/plot is refreshing and interesting and a new way to look at prison life. Her characters are all well developed and their stories will make your heart bleed for them as she intimates you to all of the deepest darkest hours of their lives. Brett and Alex make the most improbable of hero and heroine, not only being polar opposites in terms of wealth, but also of upbringing and circumstances. But once you get to know them you’ll cheer on their relationship just like I did. Her dialogue is flowing, witty and gives us that Texas Twang. Her love scenes are extremely spicy and desceiptive with out being crude, but the explicitness might not appeal to everyone.

Get ready to experience some down home Texas hospitality with some rough and ready Texas cowboys who’s stories will keep the pages turning. Keep the tissues handy because in between the joviality you’ll find yourself weeping for these men. So if you love great romance reads with the love scenes on the sizzle burner then this read is for you. Alex is book one in Monica’s Prisoners of Desire series.
