Imagine knowing the wrong person is convicted of raping and killing your sister. You know the real killer still lurks in the shadows, killing once year, and waiting for the one victim who escaped his wrath to return. Imagine spending the majority of your career searching for Jane Doe, only to find her in the most unlikely place.

Special Agent Travis Brown has set his life up so he can have access to information that will lead him to the one woman he believes can tell him who killed his sister. However, he’s not prepared for the drive and determination of his new partner, Special Agent Shauna Morgan. Her instincts are razor sharp and her beauty undeniable. His attraction to her is as strong as his need to find his sister’s killer. What he doesn't know is that Shauna has a secret; a secret which will ultimately put his heart on the line, along with her life.

Jane Doe’s Return is a gripping story full of suspense and mystery that will get your blood pumping and your mind churning.

The heroine is a woman that returns to the town she escaped years before to locate the serial rapist who nearly killed her. Now an FBI agent, Shauna Morgan will need the assistance of one man to help find a murderer that feeds on young runaway victims. The trouble is her partner, Special Agent Travis Brown, has been searching for the “Jane Doe” that managed to get away from The Princess Killer ever since his sister was murdered by the same deviant, and revealing her identity to the gorgeous man could jeopardize her entire mission for justice.

Author Jenni Holbrook will keep you guessing from start to finish. Just when you think you know who the killer might be, you get thrown for a loop and are sent searching in another direction. It’s a whodunit tale with a nice slathering of sizzle and burn. The relationship with Shauna and Travis is developed beautifully, although it should be mentioned that you will see the inevitable “gift” that will occur from their union right away. They each have issues and problems, but in coming together are able to expose their tortured souls and begin to heal. As they are both driven by tragic events in the past, the question becomes–will they be able to exist in a world in which the killer is brought to justice and revenge is served cold? The answer is heartbreaking at times, heartwarming at others, and enough to keep you interested for the duration of the story.

As with previous works, the writing is tight, the pace is brisk, and the story moves right along. I enjoyed the characters, the premise, and the mystery that kept me on my toes. Readers that love a good romance with elements of suspense/murder/mystery will gobble this one up and ask for seconds. If you enjoy the NYS Troopers series by Ms. Holbrook, you’ll want to give Jane Doe’s Return some time in the reading chair.
