What will happen when the hunter becomes the hunted…

A woman whose chances for love were destroyed…

After surviving a brutal kidnapping, Erihn Spencer has spent the past eighteen years living in the shadows. Scarred both physically and mentally, she spends her days writing romance novels dealing with the type of relationship she’s avoided. The night before heading into the mountains to start her new novel, a stranger approaches and shakes her world with one perfect kiss.

A man who could be her savior…

From the moment Fayne kisses her, the desire to possess this shy beauty is irresistible. Thrown together in a secluded house in the mountains, he’s torn between his need for her and the secrets that are destined to force them apart. As Erihn struggles to break free from years of self- imposed isolation, he finds he is the one who is now trapped by his desires, his dark self.

Their worlds collide and old secrets lead a bitter enemy to their door.

Erihn Spencer has survived more than any woman should have to endure. For eighteen years, she has avoided relationships and romance, except for those she writes about. Erihn is a successful romance writer, expressing herself with words to hide the pain and fear inside. She was kidnapped and held captive by a maniac when she was just seventeen, and is the only survivor of this madman. She has several good friends, and these women want to see her join the world and stop hiding.

Her world is turned upside down when they go to a club for a poetry night, and she receives the perfect kiss from a violet eyed stranger. Fayne is much more than just a man, however, and he is curious about this shy and unassuming woman hiding behind baggy clothes and long flowing hair.

Erihn is staying at her friend Jennifer’s mountain home, working on her next book. What she doesn’t know, is that Fayne is also staying there. She doesn’t know what Fayne is, and doesn’t know of the existence of supernatural creature like shifters and vampires, even though she writes about them. Can they co-exist in the same house when a storm traps them? Will Erihn be able to overcome her fears, and accept Fayne for what he is: one of the werecats she writes about in her romances? And together can they defeat the evil that is determined to destroy them both?

J. C. Wilder has written a romance filled with deliciously hot werecats, crazy mute vampires, and cute psychic kids. The passion Erihn discovers inside herself surprises her. When she is faced with Fayne the first time at the house, all she wants to do is run. But Erihn has a deep core of strength and with Fayne’s patient touch, learns that she is stronger than she ever thought she could be.

Ms Wilder writes with such joy and passion, and you see it in each of her characters, including a vampire with an interesting disability.

Even better, I did not see this ending coming, and I have never laughed so much when I got there. Want to have a hot night with shifters and hot tub action and fun? Then Tempt Not the Cat is for you. I enjoyed this and want to go back and read the others in this world.
