Old hatreds die hard. Old love dies harder.

On Meli Galdes’ home planet, the struggle for power is a bloody, full-contact sport—in business and on the battlefield. For years her lethal skills have been a valuable asset in advancing her family’s interests. She’s more than earned her right to retire, but her kinsmen have one last favor to ask.

Kill the man who ruined her life.

Celino Carvanna’s razor-sharp business acumen—and skills with a blade—won him the freedom to do as he pleases. There’s only one thing he can’t seem to control—his reaction to the mysterious woman who tantalizes his senses. Her eyes alone set his blood simmering, stirring ridiculous adolescent fantasies about breasts and honey. With a few words she dissects his soul. Who is she? And how does she slide so easily under his well-guarded skin?

It’s almost too easy to draw Celino within the kill zone. Meli plans to revel in him. Drink him in. Wring every drop of pleasure out of every moment.

And when she’s sure he belongs to her, she will finally repay a decade’s worth of pain—in a single, brutal dose of reality.

I liked this story. Silent Blade is set on Meli Galdes’ home planet. She is a woman of unusal skills—lethal ones that she uses to help out her family. Filled with action and intense emotions, it is also well-written and intelligent. Silent Blade may only be a short story, but it’s a complete one that will leave you satisfied at the end.

Look for steamy sex within an adventure that includes modified humans in a futurisitc setting, assassins, and large corporations. The heroine comes across as wise, talented and likeable, a woman with a troubled past given a task that many would draw away from: kill the man who broke your heart but who still haunts it.

Celino Carvanna is an interesting hero. His business skills have brought him what he has wanted in life. Then he meets her, the mysterious woman who won’t leave his thoughts. He searches for her and finds her, not recognizing her as the woman he has hurt so many years before.

The encounter is hot…and endearing. He can’t let her go.

A raging battle occurs in Meli’s heart. She has been bent on revenge, wanting justice for what he did to her. However, he has touched her heart. Can she destroy him? What she decides will keep a reader turning pages.

As for the world the story is set in, it’s fully developed. The writing is tight within this small number of pages.

If you like sci-fi and romance, you will probably enjoy this tale a great deal.
