A bundle of contradictions, Madeleine Andrews doesn't play well with others, yet is a devoted volunteer. Luke McFarland is a successful people-pleaser, burying his own desires beneath an ever-present smile. Theirs could be the love affair of the century, but first they have to learn to like each other. She thinks he's insincere and a phony. He thinks she's arrogant and difficult. And that's just the start of their problems.

Madeleine Andrews wants it all, the Pulitzer and national syndication in the top news papers country-wide. When her boss pulls her off the story covering the local politician and gives her a story about school girl diets, she’s disgusted. When the other committee members of the Center for Life Skills vote her as ‘the most able to’ deal with their publicity project into her lap, she’s not a happy bunny.

Luke McFarland’s aiming for the top and full partnership in the firm he works for, and when his boss offloads the publicity for the Center for Life Skills he’s not impressed. When he discovers he’s to work with feisty Madeleine Andrews, daughter of The Piranha, his day hits the pits. That is, until he discovers he’s also been given the remit to generate good publicity for Senator Baxter, a man he held in contempt.

Cassandra Barnes takes a serious issue and wraps a powerful love story around harrowing details that inform the reader of the terrible and sometimes catastrophic results of anorexia and bulimia. She’s researched her subject thoroughly and shares her information in a truly inspirational manner, that build her characters into fully rounded people her readers will relate to. Into this mix she adds jealousies, betrayals, and secondary characters who all play their parts to perfection.

This is a must read book, and once you’ve read this one, you’ll want to search for her previous two books, and read them too. Cassandra Barnes is a name to watch out for. She never disappoints.
