Katherine didn’t expect to find love after the mysterious death of her husband but Ontario Provincial Police Officer Jason Wolfe has other ideas. As she struggles to overcome her husband’s death and his betrayal with Beverly Jarvis, Katherine must decide if she is willing to surrender her feelings to yet another man caught in Beverly’s sights.
With a family who is constantly interfering, and Jason’s persistent attention, she must choose between living the life that she is accustomed to or find a new one elsewhere. And as Katherine is forced to make choices she has no wish to make, she must continue to outsmart the man who is trying to kill her too.
Can her growing love survive so much or will she run?
A knock on the door, an officer standing there, her husband a victim of suicide...or was it? Perhaps it was murder instead.
With her husband was dead in a fiery car crash and a suicide note found in his office, Katherine needs to search for answers, a search which will prove to be quite dangerous.
When she discovers a letter her husband mailed to the house just before his death, she just throws it in a drawer and forgot all about it. Can this hold a key to what happened to her husband? As she grows closer to Jason Wolfe, a police officer, she has a hard time controlling her feelings. She truly believes it's far too early to get involved with another man, but she can’t help falling for him.
Between having nightmares of her husbands death and problems with Bev--a local girl who is trying to get Jason interested in her--Katherine's faith in God has become stale. She's just not certain she can handle everything that has been thrown at her. But together Jason and Katherine try to solve the murder of her husband, a quest that will involve some surprising turns in the story.
This book held my interest from the very beginning. Ms. Dawson wrote an outstanding novel that kept this reader turning the pages to find out what would happen next. Will Katherine let go of her feelings? Will she turn back to God after all that has happened? Is she the reason for her husbands suicide? Or was it murder?
Author Donna Dawson has penned a spectacular inspirational mystery -- not always an easy thing to accomplish. I enjoyed this story from beginning to end, and can't recommend it enough to those looking for a book in this genre.
