All Mariah Jordan wanted was a few days off. What she got was a wounded vampire who needed blood…her blood. Sensing something sinister stalking the woods behind her cabin, Mariah tests the dying vampire by offering her blood for a price--a kiss. How could something so sweet, so bone-thrillingly delicious put her right in the middle of a vampire war with her as the prize?

Whisper to Me is an intriguing paranormal that provides readers with characters that fascinate and a plot filled with the unexpected.

Romance author Mariah Jordan is alone with her dogs at a secluded cabin when she stumbles across Rathe, a vampire who is dying and needs to “feed” in order to survive. Mariah offers her blood in exchange for a kiss and thus begins a journey and romance filled with danger, intrigue, and passion.

I was very impressed with the strong characters and the author’s take on the vampire lore in the story. Rathe, one of the Borne vampires, is battling the Damned and has no time for a female in his life, but he cannot deny the attraction and feelings he has for Mariah. As for Mariah, she's a very strong heroine who has a sixth sense that allows her to sense good and evil, a gift she shares with her teenage daughter Kai. Mariah saves the intriguing vampire’s life not realizing the cost. But the two soon embark on a passionate and fast-paced relationship. And when Rathe’s rival, Jarrod, seeks Mariah, the two find themselves in extreme danger.

They seek refuge and assistance from Rathe’s family and a colorful cast of characters which include fellow vampires as a battle ensues between the Borne and the Damned. This story was filled with surprises. And just when you think Mariah and Rathe have solved their problem, something else crops up extending the story and adding to the plot. This happened several times and I almost felt like I was on a rollercoaster as Mariah and Rathe have a very event-filled relationship.

Overall, I really enjoyed the story and the unexpected little twists and turns that the author provides. Whisper to Me is an interesting tale full of strong characters and a fascinating plot.
