When vampire, Jeremy Kristmas, is awakened from his two century nap to trade places with his irresponsible twin—two weeks before Christmas, he discovers he has a fiancĂ© who resembles his dead lover.

When I finished the last sentence of this story by Donna Michaels, I thought, "What a shame that “Vampire Kristmas” is only a short story". I would have really liked to learn more about each family member, about Jeremy, Lynette, Jared, even about cousin Dee: how did it all begin? How will it continue?

But that’s just me, eager for knowledge, because with “Vampire Kristmas” you get your full dose of sweet, funny, exciting and Christmassy surroundings. This short story captured my heart and my mind from page one with its lovely characters like Jeremy and Lynette. Jeremy, just awoken from two centuries of sleep, stuck in the past, thinking that soul mates are to be reunited again, hoping against hope that the woman before him is the woman he has loved forever (I wish I were Cordelia!); and Lynette, anxious, in pain because of a past relationship with someone really close to Jeremy, worried that what she’s feeling is a dream, her imagination, that the man she’s beginning to love does not love her true self… It’s nearly impossible not to fall for them.

A story of mixed up feelings, nasty cousins and over it all a love that will trespass centuries are present in “Vampire Kristmas”. Did I mention how much I wish I were Cordelia?
