First I'm Nobody

First I'm Nobody by Kasandra Elaine
Publisher: The Wild Rose Press
Genre: Contemporary, Inspirational

Rating: 4.5 books
Review by Orange Blossom

He came into Skylar's life, a stranger with no memory of his past. A troublesome past invades his present. Unfolding evidence indicates Duke Green is a criminal on the run. Does Skylar McCrea trust her instinct or abide by the apparent facts? His past is a mystery, but in the present he is an honorable man. If he were a thief, surely, he would show some characteristics of a man with a criminal mind.

Skylar is a good judge of character and of horseflesh. She knows Skylark's Son will be another champion for the Lazy M Ranch, and she strongly suspects that Duke Green might be a champion himself.

Their search for Duke's past takes them across the country. What will be at the end – a life of freedom with Skylar or separation while Duke pays for his crime? What does God have in mind for the two?

First I’m Nobody is an excellent Inspirational novel with intrigue and romance to keep you turning those pages.

The characterizations in this book were captivating. Skylar is a sweet, Christian woman with just the right amount of spirit and strength who goes out of her way to help a fellow human being in need. And Duke…well, he just captures your interest from the very beginning as he attempts to figure out who he is and good naturedly jokes with his nurses. I grew to really love Skylar and Duke and root for them not only to prove Duke’s innocence but also find a way to come together.

But this is a book about much more than two people finding their happily ever after. It’s a story of the heart—that place where darkness lurks which only God can transform white as snow. Duke is in a lot of trouble and the intricacies of the storyline are crafted so as to draw you in step by step while the characters develop and plots unfold. And before you know it, you can’t stop reading.

This is a Good Samaritan tale. A story about finding out who you are in more ways than one and in the end discovering truths that make the characters happier than they ever were before. First I’m Nobody is a first-rate inspirational novel that will have you laughing, guessing and by the end wishing there was more. The plot is riveting, the characters engaging. You don’t want to miss this one. I commend the writing team of Kassandra Elaine. Together they have written a complete tale that flows imperceptibly as one voice. These are characters I won’t soon forget. I look forward to more from these two authors.
