Orchard Hill Residents - lock up your hearts!

Pansy Parker and Misty Green are rivals in romance. Each believes she is the town's best matchmaker. Now they're going to settle the question for once and for all. They're keeping track to see who can make the most matches in a year's time. Both Misty and Pansy are determined to be the winner. No heart is safe in Orchard Hill - not even their own.

School secretary Faith Fielding has been in love with her boss for years. She's waiting for him to move beyond his late wife's memory. But when he finally does ask someone out - and it's not her - Faith decides she's had enough and gives her notice. School principal Andrew Thomas can't imagine life or work without loyal efficient Faith but he doesn't understand why she's quitting. Faith's last day
is the big end of school Memorial Day Picnic. Will Andrew figure out how to keep Faith by then or will she be gone for good?

Welcome to the town of Orchard Hills once again as the rivalry between Misty Green and Pansy Parker continues. Both ladies have decided that it is time that they determine once and for all who the best matchmaker is. Hence, they decided that whoever makes the most number of matches within the coming year will be the winner. With three successful matches under their belt, they have identified their newest victims: Andrew Thomas, the local school principal and Faith Fielding, his secretary and best friend of 10 years

Andrew has been widowed for quite some time and upon his University daughter’s incessant nagging promises her that he will go on a date. The next day at the school who should show up but a woman that will do very nicely in helping him fulfill his promise to his daughter. He thought Faith will be happy with his move and help him prepare for the date. But she is acting very strange and has decided to quit her job. What is going on with Faith and why won’t she talk to him like they have been talking for the past ten years?

Faith Fielding has had it with Andrew Thomas. A widow herself, she has waited patiently for Andrew to notice her. But it hasn't happened yet and she is not going to wait around to see the parade of women he will be dating. After all, once he dips his feet into the dating world, he'll probably want to try it again and again. Will Andrew realize that the unexpected is right beneath his nose? Can he convince Faith to stay?

I truly enjoy reading the tales of the citizens of Orchard Hill. Even though they are short, the poignant, sweet and funny novels touch the heart and have the power to uplift. Each new installment of this series is original and thoughtful. Ms. Russell does not borrow plotline, events or peculiar traits from the previous stories in this series. Hence, reading each new story is an adventure of its own. Reading the previous stories in the series is not necessary to understand the plotline in this novel. However, to get to know the minor characters in this novel and to understand the enmity between Pansy and Misty, it will be worthwhile reading the others.

I am very much looking forward to the continuation of their rivalry and the development of the surprises or unexpected twists that Ms. Russell mentioned in this installment.
