Review: Mandi's Lucky Day

Mandi's Lucky Day
by Beth Morrow

When it comes to finding the perfect man, Mandi needs all the help she can get— including a pair of lucky earrings with a reputed history of matchmaking powers.

So when one of the antique emeralds comes up missing, should Mandi hold tight to the belief that the earring will return, and with it a fresh, new love? Or is just wishful thinking on the part of a romantic girl in a corporate world?

I like the way that Mandi is waiting for true love. She’s not falling into the peer pressure of having to date many men or sleep around to find the right guy. She is such the hopeless romantic, and believes completely that her earrings bring her good luck in relationships. She was a completely believeable character, and I loved reading about her.

Her friend, Kayla, adds to the temptation to just give in and start dating random guys in hopes of finding the one. I thoroughly enjoyed the dynamic between these two opposite characters.

Mandi’s crush on co-worker, Alex, shows that she does crave a relationship even if it isn’t brought about by the earrings' good luck. Does Alex have a crush on Mandi too? Are the earrings really good luck charms?

This would have made a fantastic full-length novel if the opening scene was expanded upon and then the actual relationship between Mandi and Alex got explored. Still, this story was very well written for such a short piece. I highly recommend it.
