For months Aimee has spotted a man, little more than a shadow, while tending to her city’s homeless. Tristan. A mysterious stranger who invades her dreams with gentle caresses and haunted eyes, but evades her in the flesh. Then he saves her life on a cold October night, and Aimee’s search for the enigmatic man intensifies.

Tristan, however, isn’t what he seems. Allowing Aimee into his life will either lead to his biggest heartbreak…or his greatest salvation.

Aimee works with the homeless and has one man she’d like to take under her wing. He looks needy, but he’s a mystery man and she only catches glimpses of him…

This novelette has the taste of beauty and the beast. It’s fairytale-like and the author does an excellent job of hauntingly taking you along the trail of the mystery man. Ms. Bedwell-Grime makes Aimee a warm, gracious young woman who is happy with her life and enjoys helping the homeless. She makes Tristan is a tortured soul that can have no long relationships and lives a lonely life.

The story is set in the poor side of the city where the less fortunate residents of the city live. The author make you feel like you are walking those mean streets and when Aimee gets mugged in the park, you don’t feel surprised.

Ms. Bedwell-Grime creates a gentle, fragile romance with deep passion; she gives Tristan an almost insurmountable problem. On the other hand, she makes Aimee an empathetic, loving woman with brains enough to try to solve a riddle. You’re soon rooting for the couple.

The author grabs your attention in the first few lines and fleshes out her story well without an overuse of words. Her concise writing is a pleasure to read. It’s also fun to read about Tristan saving Aimee from trouble and danger she has brought upon herself. Who wouldn’t like your “white knight” around to save you? Since he’s real attractive, he’s not hard on the eyes either.

Why not get a copy of this story and see if you can figure out Aimee’s idea before she does. Are you smart, too? This author is. Happy reading!
