Collin Edwards, a former parishioner at Woodland Church of Christ, has renounced God without apology, his faith drained away in the face of a tragic loss.
Daveny Montgomery cares deeply about her relationship with God and the community of Woodland. But lately she's been in a rut, longing for something to reignite her spiritual enthusiasm.
A beautification project at Woodland seems the answer for them both. Daveny spearheads the effort and Collin assists—but only with the renovations, and only because he wants to know Daveny better.
Despite his deepening feelings for her, even stepping into the common areas of the church stirs tension and anger.
Can Daveny trust in Collin’s fledgling return to faith? And can Collin ever accept the fact that while he turned his back on God, God never turned his back on him?
Nature girl and a Bookworm. Could God have a plan for these two lives?
High school English teacher, Collin Edwards, turned his heart off to God five years ago when his cop brother took a bulletin the line of duty. Daveny Montgomery is a landscape architect whose been offered the job to make major improvements to her church's landscape. That's when she meets Collin who came by the church only to drop something off for his mother.
Both Collin and Daveny feel attracted to each other and Collin finds himself volunteering to help. Daveny is moved by his good attitude and handsome looks and before she knows it she's asked him out for coffee. And so it begins...
Collin is definitely a hurt soul. He has a strong personality and you can see he wants to do the right thing but his past is holding him back. Daveny on the other hand is a sweet spirited woman who enjoys Collin’s company and wants to help him in any way she can. The relationship which buds between the two changes both their lives in more ways than one.
