Mr. October: Kyle Landis, Air Force commander, millionaire…daddy?

Motto: Family first, last, always.

Marriage?: Not until now!

He'd worked the most dangerous missions, but nothing had prepared Kyle Landis for the surprise of becoming a dad. When Phoebe Slater suddenly announced the child she was caring for was his baby, he had no reason to doubt her. And since a Landis did not sway in his duty, marriage was the only course of action. But once "I do" was said, would Phoebe be up for enlisting as his wife…in every way Kyle had been imagining?

Some men are meant to lead. Some men are meant to nurture. What happens when the leader has to nurture? He becomes the Millionaire in Command.

Now I will always pick up a book by Catherine Mann when I see it on the shelf. I know her work will pack a punch, not only in the action department, but in the emotional realm as well. Her flyboys and military men are some of the best alphas, and ooh, are they sexy.

Kyle has no idea that while he’s been away, he’s become a daddy. But when he sees the little girl, his paternal instincts kick in. Not to mention his reaction to Phoebe! The interactions between them sizzle. You feel the passion before they do, but you know it’s real.

Now the idea of a woman taking care of another woman’s child can be overdone. But not in this book. Phoebe cares for Nina above all others and is willing to risk her heart and her reputation to give the child a good life. I like that she stands on her own two feet and takes charge. She gives Kyle a run for his money in and out of bed. I also like that he didn’t back down from her challenge and rather falls for her because of her forthright approach.

I enjoyed seeing these two people find their heart’s desires. This is a book I recommend you not miss. If you want a story that will stay with you far past the last page, then you need to read Millionaire in Command. I give this novel 4.5 books.
