JD McAaden is scared. His parents fight all the time. As JD writes his letter to Santa, he realizes that he’ll give up everything if only his family can be saved. With the heart-rending innocence of a child, JD pins his faith on elves and the spirit of Christmas.

A mysterious invitation to visit North Pole Village for the holidays is all that is keeping Faith and Taylor McAaden’s marriage together. Faith has promised to give her son one last special outing before she sues for divorce. But in the magic atmosphere of hope, Faith and Taylor learn that love lurks even in the darkest hours and that with JD’s Christmas Wish their family can be made whole again.

We all have a Christmas wish, whether we acknowledge it or not. Even it’s as basic as I wish the In-Laws would stay home!!

And like the rest of us JD’s wish is for something not to happen, than for something physical. With fading memories of his happy family, Staci’s story opens with JD’s Christmas letter to Santa.

And so we, the reader, are allowed inside the head’s of each member of JD’s family. We see the hopes and dreams, the motivations, and misconceptions. Anger and love at war with each other and a little boy in the middle taking on the blame, for all the misery surrounding him.

Faith is well named. We watch her struggle to believe in a future that seems beyond her grasp, and we see Taylor whose first goal in life is to provide for his family only to discover his choice of method is not the wisest he’s ever made.

All three members of the McAaden family set about, in their own way, to make this the best Christmas ever.

No story is complete without its setbacks and black holes, and there are plenty provided here. This is a charming, feel-good story, that will resonate with its readers. Pick one up for yourself to kick off your holiday season!
