Twenty three years ago, Luke Romanov’s childhood playmate disappeared without a trace. He’s never stopped blaming himself. When the family he works for hires a woman identical to his childhood friend, he’ll stop at nothing to discover her true identity, even if it means betraying her.

What few memories photographer Hope Jennings has of her past aren’t pretty. The monsters from her nightmares make it impossible to completely erase her violent history, but she’s living her life one day at a time. Hired to photograph a wealthy family's ancestral home in the Caribbean, she expects to work hard, get the job done, and go home.

Instead, Hope finds unexpected passion in the arms of the family's sexy and dangerous security expert, who has the power to destroy the safe life she’s built for herself. When someone from her past targets her to die, Hope doesn’t know who to trust.

Will Hope and Luke find the answers they need before it's too late?

Living in the Key West for years now with her adopted father Hope had thought that she had escaped from her violent past but with one late night phone call it all changes. It seems that her past has caught up with her. One night Hope is jolted awake with a terrorizing phone call. But when she doesn’t receive anymore calls in the weeks to come Hope puts it out of her mind and concentrates on her new job offer to photograph the Santiago’s family estate.

After meeting with Luke the families liaison Hope agrees to take the job and accompany Luke to Cuba where the main estate is located. Luke cannot believe his eyes when he meets Hope. She looks exactly like his childhood friend who was abducted and is still missing all these years later. He decides to find some answers while she is photographing the estate. Luke has blamed himself for the disappearance of his childhood friend and has even gone into security himself. The Santiago family has since hired Luke to be the head of their security as well.

From the very first days together at the estate Hope and Luke begin to enjoy themselves and each other’s company but that is all changed one night when they are attacked. They learn that Hope has a hit taken out on her, and are told to hide for a few days while things are wrapped up. During that time Hope and Luke must learn to cooperate and trust each other.

Can hope tell Luke about her past and confide in him about not remembering it all? Will Luke tell hope that she may be the twin that they have been looking for? What can and what will they do about the feelings that they have for each other?

This story has many twists and turns it kept me glued to the pages waiting to find out what happens next. The wonderful depth of the characters draws you in. Katie Reus endeared the good guys to me and had me despising the bad.

It was very nice to see both the heroine and hero being awkward with each other and not knowing or understanding just what they were feeling. With Hope torn between trying to trust Luke and Luke trying to figure out if Hope is really the abducted childhood friend all while trying to evade the hit put out on her the adventures begin. As they learn about each other they must also deal with the person who wants Hope dead. Can they trust and believe in one another before time runs out?

This action packed book filled with romance had me from the first page. With its great flow and wonderful characters I will definitely be looking for more reads from this author.
