Julie's quest for a suitable husband leads to several misfires. Only Nick leaves her panting for more. Will she have to put a choke chain on him before the month is out?
Nick is a pilot who flies to Abilene, Texas to pick up Julie to take her to Waco, Texas to help the Esposito’s and their poodles.
Nick is close to the Esposito’s and he doesn’t want to see their marriage fail. And he’s interested in Julie, who seems everything but interested in him. After much debate Julie begins to let her guard down to Nick, but just as quickly Nick’s woman comes strolling in. Not only does he have another woman but also it’s apparent he is smuggling drugs and illegal aliens to Texas. What could be worse?
This book is captivating from start to finish. It’s a cute and charming love story. Julie has been hurt once before and is afraid of trusting another man, but something about Nick pulls her to him. But just as soon as she believes he is different he proves her wrong. All of the characters of this book have a story of their own and I just love how Ms. Whitaker weaves them all together to make one incredible story.
If there was ever a story that made me want to visit Texas and see the old world mixed with the new world it would be this one. As I’m reading I can see the places so clearly as if I’ve seen them before. Ann Whitakers’ fans have an expectancy of her books and I promise you she hasn’t failed you yet. It’s a book that could be classified as the book of the summer.
