The last thing Darien West needs is an overconfident Wall Street raider like Vincent Leighton whose reputation catapulted him to the height of New York society. Women were for mutual amusement, never serious contemplation. Years of fending off female intentions have come back to haunt him, for this buxom green-eyed lady is his choice and apparently she wants nothing to do with him. Using a personal project to insinuate himself into her life has consequences neither could have imagined, especially since he is the new owner of the one thing in this world Darien covets.
Darien West loves to immerse herself in her architectural and interior design work. Vincent Leighton is a self-made millionaire who gave little notice to women or details… that is until he met Darien. Soon, he’ll find out that the missing piece in his life wasn’t really a missing piece, but rather that he needed Little Color in His Life.
I enjoyed this novel. Ms. Cornell’s characters are snappy and intelligent. I couldn’t tear myself away as I watched the pair discover their love for each other. I found the scene on the balcony to be my favorite. It reminded me of a black and white old Hollywood romance. I think Ms. Cornell’s conflict worked well. Many women have trust issues because of rickety pasts and many men have a hard time accepting the truth when it isn’t the candy-coated version they expect. Their idiosyncrasies made me love the characters even more.
If you want a white-hot romance between the perfect lovers with a twist of old Hollywood, then grab a copy of A Little Color in His Life and hold on tight. You’ll fall in love with this novel. I give it 4.5 books! Very well done.
