Olivia Sawyer manages to get through the holiday rituals only by gritting her teeth. By the time Christmas is over, she's had enough. Enough of her family's ingratitude, their total lack of a Christmas spirit. Desperate times demand desperate actions.
Not in her wildest nightmare did she think her campaign to open their eyes and change their attitudes would take a whole year. But even as the next Christmas draws near, it appears that nothing has changed.
And then fate intervenes, and it's too late for changes.
I love Christmas stories, especially Christmas tales with a lesson attached—a lesson with a twist. And that is exactly what you get in Ms. Lerma’s novella, Noel.
Olivia is a woman who has been taken for granted by her husband and her entire family one too many times. Enough is enough. She decides to teach them all a lesson…but are they even listening? By next year, will anything be any different? Olivia is like many women I know. They love their families but find themselves being used instead of being thanked for all they do. I completely related to Olivia and really felt for her plight as the story begins.
This is a quick read that will leave you wanting to reach out to your family and thankful for them. It made me think of a holiday Hallmark movie but without the fluff. Not a romance, but a Christmas novel worth reading anytime of the year. Definitely worth the read.
