Review: Welcome To Redemption

Welcome to Redemption
by Donna Marie Rogers and Stacey Joy Netzel

Second chances don't always come easy, but in the small town of Redemption, if you're willing to try, anything is possible.

From a single mother struggling to make it on her own, to an EMT drowning in the guilt of his past...four couples, eight journeys, one place they all call home.

Nestled in the heart of Northeast Wisconsin, Redemption offers these lost souls not only a second chance in life, but in love, too.

How long does it take to fall in love? A day? A week? A few months? Well, in the small town of Redemption, Wisconsin it can be any of these. Welcome to Redemption is a full length romance novel that encompasses four separate love stories. Rogers and Netzel have done an excellent job of building four very different story lines that seamlessly overlap in a realistic way. Their writing style (it's impossible to tell one author from the other, which is amazing) is a bit too detailed for this reviewer's taste. However, that same descriptiveness is what gives the reader such a clear picture of what the characters are thinking and doing and feeling.

Each story has its own twists and surprises, and all of them have the emotional intensity lightened on occasion by the wonderful comic relief of an energetic and mischeivous great dane named Sugar.

The characters are believable as far as personality and reactions go, though I was a bit put off by how beautiful everyone was; Four hot, gorgeous, eligible guys and four modelesque or curvaceous maidens in one small town all falling in love at one time seemed a bit much. Also, there was strong emphasis on physical attraction in each of the stories, though the lovers consistently moved beyond the steam to "true" love. However, this IS fiction, and we can let our imaginations run wild without taking too much from the narrative. Right? Of course Right!

Overall, this book will provide the reader with a pleasant get away - make that FOUR pleasant getaways!

I've always found the idea of living in a small towns appealing.

I love books with animals in them. I think 4 happily ever afters at one time in one book is a bit unrealistic too but it sounds like a good read.

I'd like to thank Black-Eyed Susan for reviewing Welcome To Redemption and for all of her wonderful comments. :-) Welcome To Redemption also received a 5-Heart review from Brenda Talley at The Romance Studio who absolutely loved it, as well as rave reviews from several published authors including the incredible Jane Toombs.

Thanks again, LASR!

Just wanted to make a quick reply after reading everyone's wonderful comments. The first two stories take place around the town's fair, but the second stories don't take place until several weeks later. So while there are 4 HEAs, they don't take place all at once. ;-)

And Dena, you'd love Sugar, Stacey did an amazing job with her. :-)
