How Faerie Dust is Made [ The Roscommon Faerie Tales 1]
by Nita Wick
A colony of faeries lives among the lush green forests of Roscommon, Ireland near the Arigna Mountains. Their lives would be peaceful were it not for the humans who live in the area with them. The humans dislike faeries and their magic, and the two races are often at odds. But faerie or human, love makes no distinction. And both will soon find that love is the greatest magic of all.
Conall may be human, but he is Aisling's life mate. She's certain of it. After all, a faerie knows these things. Can her magic end the feud between their families? And just how is faerie dust made?
I really enjoyed this story. Nita Wick does a fine job of making faeries a believable part of the world. Aisling is sweet and innocent. She has only known prejudice from faerie and human alike but doesn’t allow it to make her bitter. I loved her character instantly. Innocent in the ways of love and desire, she none the less finds herself drawn to Conall, a human. Aisling has a hidden strength that was very appealing in that she won’t be pushed around by the men in her life. Strength is something that every good heroine must possess, but she doesn’t necessarily need pushy men.
Conall has never had reason to trust faeries. An incident in his family’s past has colored his views of their kind. Then he meets Aisling in the woods. Unaware at first of her true nature, he is drawn to her. Even when he discovers that she is a faerie, he can’t seem to stop thinking about her. But can he trust her?
The story was fairly predictable in its plot and outcome. But there were a few very funny moments. My favorite was the incident with the bed sheets and a clueless maid. Aisling has a hidden strength that was very appealing in that she won’t be pushed around by the men in her life. Strength is something that every good heroine must possess, but not necessarily pushy men.
The secondary characters weren’t very developed with the exception of Isibeal, Aisling’s mother. She is what a good mother should be. Full of advice, but also willing to let her child make her own choices. I would have liked to see more of Muiris as his advice and friendship is what paves the road for trust between the two main characters. Also, I would have liked to see more of Aisling’s brother Breandan. But Nita Wick has his story coming up next, so I’ll just have to wait.
And just how is faerie dust made? Well you’ll have to read the story to find out, because the making of it is half the fun of this story.

Making faerie dust sure must be fun!
I love fantasy books, especially books about elves and faeries. I've not heard of this author but I'd like to give her a try.

It seems like a good book, but not one I would buy.
Thank you for the lovely review, Zinnia. I'm doing a little happy dance. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Good recap of the story, thanks for the review.
Just stopped by to say what a lovely review, Nita. You must be thrilled. Fantasy isn't my thing, but you have obviously scored high with readers of this genre - so the very best of luck with it.

This sounds intriguing...I haven't read any "faery" stories and this one looks like it would be good.
Sounds like a nice story, but I don't think it's my type of reading.
Fantasy is fun and entertaining. Love the review.
Enjoyable review and fantasy is a great change for me.
Not a book I would have found on my own.
